The prosecutor's office of the Zaporizhzhya region opened a case on the death of birds and small animals in the Akimovsky district of the region.

Recall that on March 7, 2019, among the corpses there were also feathered, listed in the Red Book of Ukraine - borefoot and common buzzards. A little later it became known that domestic dogs and foxes also fell victims of an unknown poison.

Hunters suggested that the victims tasted the poisoned green grains, which the farmers “treated” the harmful rodents. The aforementioned grain was found near the corpses of birds and animals.

Later, blisters with liquid were found near the site of mass pestilence. After the analysis, it turned out that this is a bait for wild animals from rabies. But it is not dangerous to animals and people.

The Zaporizhzhya department of the State Food and Beverage Service received the first autopsy results of animals. Signs of poisoning by an unknown substance were found in the blood of the victims. The death of birds and animals did not occur precisely from acute infectious diseases, according to the State Food and Beverage Service.
