Leading specialists of a unique laboratory at the Novosibirsk Agrarian University, which specializes in breeding various types of entomoacariphages (insects that help protect crops from invasion and exposure to other insect pests), shared optimistic news.
So, according to experts, for many years they have accumulated experience in the cultivation of insect species that actively and willingly help farmers to regulate the number of pests in agricultural fields, greenhouses, flower beds, ornamental plantings, etc.
And as a result of painstaking work, they managed to establish breeding of such acarifagi as spider mites.
Mite Phytoseiulus persimilis
These representatives of the species Phytoseiulus persimilis help to regulate the number of pests in the beds, as well as other “wards” of Novosibirsk scientists - the predatory bug Orius laevigatus and its distant cousin Nesidiocoris tenuis, as well as the Colorado beetle Podisus maculiventris.
All these “insects” are considered an effective biological method of environmentally friendly prevention in the fields.Colorado potato beetle Podisus maculiventris
