Today, cabbage in Ukraine can be bought at a price of 12-13 UAH / kg or 0.45- $ 0.49 / kg. This is a quarter more expensive than at the end of last week.

This increase in prices is associated with a significant reduction in supply on the market, as there are very few vegetable stocks left in farms. At the same time, demand for the product significantly increased last week, which also plays a role in supporting high prices. The main market operators note an increase in demand for cabbage not only domestically, but also in the foreign market.

As a result of a rise in price, cabbage has a price that exceeded three times last year. Market operators predict a new price jump next week. They associate their expectations with the unquenchable demand for cabbage and a noticeable reduction in its stocks on farms.

Recall that last week the price of cabbage was at the level of 11 UAH / kg. And according to experts' forecasts, young cabbage of local cultivation will appear in Ukraine at the end of March. This year, the early vegetable season will begin 10 days earlier than last year.

It was previously reported that in Ukraine it is already possible to buy imported potatoes for the harvest of 2019. Basically, it is supplied from Egypt and sold through supermarket chains at a price of about 40 UAH / kg.
