An outbreak of such a dangerous virus as foot and mouth disease was recorded in Krasnokamensky district, on the territory of one of the farms. As a result of the audit, it turned out that the pathogen affected 12 animals. It is noteworthy that this outbreak is the first in 2019 among the farmland of the Trans-Baikal Territory.
Employees of relevant departments report that over the first two and a half months of the current year, foci of insidious foot and mouth disease were also recorded in the Khabarovsk Territory and on the territory of Primorsky Lands.
Experts, analyzing the situation, came to the conclusion that the causative agent of foot and mouth disease came to farms, to stalls with animals of the Transbaikal Territory from neighbors - from China. It should be noted that a year ago, at the end of winter 2018, farm animals infected with foot and mouth disease were found on the territory of the livestock farm near the village of Chindant, which is located in the Borzinsky district of the region.Soon after, another 26 foci of infection were recorded. Then the veterinarians agreed that the virus should be localized with drastic measures. As a result, about two hundred representatives of cattle with signs of dangerous foot and mouth disease were destroyed.
Recall that foot and mouth disease (aphthous fever, epizootic stomatitis) is an acute infectious disease of animals, mainly cattle, goats and pigs, expressed in fever and rash in the form of blisters (aphthae) on the oral mucosa and on the skin in the hooves . Young animals are most susceptible to the disease, in which foot and mouth disease is severe, with mass death.
This disease can be widespread among animals in the form of epizootics. Human disease with foot and mouth disease occurs only in isolated cases and does not accept epidemic spread among people, since susceptibility to human foot and mouth disease is low. Foot and mouth disease is not transmitted from person to person.
