The press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation reports that in the first three months of this year, Udmurt cows were able to provide the market of their region and the trading floors of neighboring regions with 185 thousand tons of milk of excellent quality.
Such indicators were achieved by the joint efforts of livestock breeders from Udmurt agricultural organizations and peasant farms. It should be emphasized that current dairy indicators exceed the total milk yield in Udmurtia for the first three months of 2018 by more than 10 thousand tons (almost 5.8% more).
As noted in the republican administration, today on average with one Udmurt cow it is possible to milk more than 18 kilograms of milk per day. For comparison, we note that in early April 2018, the average milk yield per cow was 17.2 kilograms.Such data allow the Republic of Udmurtia to become a leader in the Volga Federal District, giving way to only activists from the Kirov region with an average of 21.7 kilograms of milk per cow.
On average, in the Russian Federation, one cow produces about 16.8 kilograms of milk per day.It should be noted that Udmurtia owes its leadership positions to livestock breeders and dairy workers in the Vavozhsky district (16.4 thousand tons of milk since the beginning of this year) and the Kambarsky district (local dairymen were able to increase milk production by 30% compared to the same period in 2018).
