Cargill Inc, a world-famous company that is the largest producer and supplier of food and agricultural products, has announced that it is phasing out its production facilities in the People's Republic of China.
The reason for the closure of enterprises in China was the African swine fever virus, which spreads in the vast expanses of the country with enviable speed. It is important to note that after the attack of Chinese agricultural facilities by the ASF virus, the demand for feed produced by Cargill Inc has significantly decreased throughout the world.
In this regard, the company's management decided to close three Chinese feed production plants in China back in 2018. It is important to add that the total production volumes of all three facilities amounted to about one hundred and fifty thousand tons per year.
The administration of Cargill Inc emphasizes that even if the People’s Republic of China can tame the African swine fever virus and completely relieve its expanses from the invasion of this infection, there is no plan to resume the operation of feed production plants.
However, the Cargill Inc management does not intend to completely break off partnerships with Chinese colleagues. It is known that the company intends to reorient its forces in the manufacture of other types of agricultural products in China.
