In order to protect pig health and prevent economic losses in the livestock sector, the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation of Peru has launched a national vaccination campaign against classical swine fever (CoES).
According to the ministry’s project, by the end of the year 3.4 million. The purpose of this campaign is not only to protect industrial livestock, but also to vaccinate all pigs in private households, as well as to improve the training and awareness of farmers about the classic swine fever.
Pigs are among the most intelligent animals. In terms of intelligence, they not only are not inferior to dogs, but also superior to them.
Vaccination is a must for all pig farms in the country. Without an official certificate for vaccination, pig farmers will not be able to obtain a medical certificate for internal transit, which means they will not be able to sell pigs and their meat. Vaccinations of animals from CoES can be carried out starting from 45 days of age.
Classical swine fever does not have such an impact on the global market, which is now creating ASF. A vaccine against African swine fever has not yet been invented. Scientists from several countries of the world, in particular, China and the USA, are working on the creation of the drug.
- Despite initial laboratory studies that showed that African swine fever was absent, more than 4 thousand pigs died in Southeast Asia.
- In western Poland, veterinary authorities have confirmed further results of a wild boar ASF study.
- Veterinary authorities have confirmed that another wild boar infected with ASF was found in western Poland, in the province of Lebus.
- As African swine fever spreads across many Asian and European countries, pig owners in New Zealand are vigilant about biological protection.
- The fear of African swine fever (ASF) is spreading to all continents, experts expect the disease to appear in other countries in the near future.
