In the next 3-5 years, the domestic Ukrainian market for organic products expects a slow growth due to an increase in domestic consumption, an expansion of the assortment and an increase in the share of processed products.
This is stated in the presented study of the market of organic fruits and vegetables with the participation of the certification organization Organic Standard, the educational and consulting project Organic Business School and the Ukrainian project for the business development of horticulture (UHBDP).
The authors of the study pay attention to systemic marketing communications with consumers in the domestic market, and work to improve the culture of consumption. The growth of the organic market is directly related to the growth rate of the Ukrainian economy.
It is also forecasted growth in exports of organic products, an increase in supply countries, the activation of foreign traders and buyer companies.
“But there are factors that complicate the situation: fierce and intense competition, unequal conditions of Ukrainian and local producers in the EU, low confidence in Ukrainian producers because of past scandals and, in general, because of mistrust of Ukraine in Europe,” the researchers note.
