The Ukrsahar Association sent an official appeal to the President of Ukraine, the Prime Minister and the head of the board of Ukrzaliznytsia with a request to prevent the closure of freight stations that serve sugar industry enterprises.
The Association informs that a number of sugar enterprises will have to significantly increase the costs of receiving raw materials and sending finished products due to the identification of inactive stations and the further closure of the stations they use by the Ukrzaliznytsia Directorate.
In particular, some stations serving the Astarta-Kiev and Lannovsky Sugar Plant companies were included in the list of inactive stations undergoing closure. This refers to the stations of the Southern Railway of the Poltava Region - Lanna, Vily, Vodyanaya and Leshchinovka.Such a situation will lead to a significant increase in the cost of sugar factories for the reception of raw materials and sending products, which will make these regions logistically unattractive for the further development of enterprises and the construction of new facilities, sugar producers said.
Recall that in December 2018 the board of Ukrzaliznytsia approved the procedure for conducting a rating analysis of the activities of freight stations. According to its results, a list of inactive freight stations was formed, which included 301 stations.
