An open pit with dozens of dead pigs left by a local farmer was discovered in the territory of the village of Tolshchev, Pustomytovsky district, Lviv region.

Over the past year, the number of flies in the village has doubled, the peasant said. Local residents claim that many more bones lie in the fields, and under the feet of sewage from a pig farm. According to farmer Nikolai Paladiychuk, a local resident deliberately broke a pipe, so sewage flowed into the field. The farmer said that he could not bury them because of the rains, since there was no access for the tractor, and promised to rectify the situation.Leaving animal remains in the open is prohibited by law. In the Lviv region there is a special enterprise that processes carcasses of cattle. The farm owner now faces a fine for environmental damages.The head of the village council will also pay a fine for silence about sewage in the fields. At a minimum, this will be the amount of 1.7 thousand UAH.
