As a continuing commitment to support ecotourism, Bali Dynasty Resort has set up its own mini hydroponic farm. The goal of this project is to provide our kitchen with a fresh and healthy product grown organically.
The city farm will also serve as a tool to educate employees and locals on how to easily grow individual herbs and vegetables in the water.
Led by Didit Indra, general manager of Bali Dynasty Resort, and Nyoman Suastiki, the resort's chef, along with a kitchen team, vacationers recently took part in the very first harvest.
In the ancient Sumerian Epic of Gilgamesh, there is a mention of a plant growing system that can be compared with modern hydroponics.
Situated in a duck pond garden, the hydroponic farm currently provides the resort with a variety of fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs that are completely free of harmful chemicals and pesticides.
This environmentally friendly initiative gives the resort unlimited access to organic products containing the highest possible nutrients.
Direct speech: “Hydroponic farming is an excellent method of growing plants in water without soil, in which nutrients are delivered directly to the root system.
Greenhouses also provide ideal conditions because plants can grow at a fast pace regardless of the time of year, ”Indra said.
