According to He Zhenwei, secretary general of the Overseas Enterprise Development Association of the People’s Republic of China, the authorities in his country are seriously considering increasing purchases of Russian soybeans.
Reflections on increasing import volumes of soybeans from the Russian Federation appeared among representatives of the Chinese state grain, oilseed and food corporations against the background of tense trade and economic relations between the PRC and the United States of America.
He Zhenwei shared his thoughts, supported by the opinion of Chinese colleagues, on the eve of the economic forum in the Northern capital of the Russian Federation. In particular, at a meeting with foreign colleagues in St. Petersburg, the Secretary General noted that his homeland is actively purchasing soy from Brazilian suppliers today. However, this state of affairs does not satisfy the People’s Republic of China, as it is known throughout the world that soy from Brazil is predominantly genetically modified. And the Russian product is known as pure and not subjected to genetic modifications.
Russian analysts are convinced that if the Russian Federation receives China as a large buyer of soybeans, American suppliers are unlikely to even regain the right to supply soybeans to the Celestial Empire, even if relations with China improve.
He Zhenwei has his own opinion on this subject: “You must not miss such a chance!” - He called on the Russians to potentially beneficial cooperation.
