Over the past five years, the export structure of Ukrainian honey has changed significantly.
Previously, manufacturers sent about 70% of the export product to traders and only 30% directly to packers, but now the situation is the opposite. About this during a meeting in the Chamber of Commerce and Industry said Viktor Ivanchenko, development director of the company-exporter of honey "Askania-Pak."
“Today, 64% are delivered directly to packers who pack and put our honey on the shelf, and we export only 36% to traders,” the specialist says. “This is despite the fact that, for example, in the USA 100% of exports go to traders,” Viktor Ivanchenko said. The specialist also drew attention to a significant expansion of the export geography of Ukrainian honey. If in 2012, Ukrainian producers supplied honey to just over 10 countries, now the country is selling its product to almost 40 countries.
Today, Ukraine exports its own honey to European countries, the United States of America, Canada, Japan and the Middle East, summed up the representative of the company engaged in the export of Askania-Pak honey, Viktor Ivanchenko.
