The current requirements for beer production in Russia differ from those requirements imposed on the European products by the Eurasian Economic Union. However, very soon the rules followed by the brewers of many European countries today can be implemented in Russian breweries.

It should be noted that today in Russia the following rule is provided by law: no more than 20% of the malt in the production of beer can be replaced with grain or sugar. The new regulation will increase the rate from 20% to 50%. The sugar share in the product will also increase - from two to five percent.

If the regulation is adopted, then the producers will be given two years to adapt to the new rules.

It should be added that the new regulation may prompt Russian brewers to change their professional orientation. After all, now in the circulation of Russia will include such types of drinks that do not yet exist in domestic law. In particular, manufacturers can move from beer production to the production of such types of products as: aperitif, vodka with a protected name of the place of production, original alcoholic drink. As for drinks such as cider and beloved mead, they, in accordance with the new regulation, will be classified as fermentation drinks with a low alcohol content. It is noteworthy that such products are also not provided for in the legislation of the Russian Federation.

An important point regarding cider: with the adoption of the regulations, manufacturers will be able to prepare fruit and flavored drinks from any raw materials of fruit origin and will be able to freely use flavoring additives. At the same time, it will be possible to circumvent the rule that prescribes that cider should contain at least 85 percent of apple raw materials.
