March 27 this year in Ukraine there was an unexpected snowfall and a drop in air temperature to minus indicators. What expects crops due to deteriorating weather conditions? Agrarians of Ukraine shared their fears.

A check of the status of field work in the central regions of the country showed that a sharp drop in temperature to minus points and precipitation in the form of snow can delay the development of plants, if such weather persists. In general, the condition of winter crops is assessed as satisfactory.

On March 27, employees of the call center of the Infoindustria news agency conducted a survey of farmers in Cherkasy, Vinnitsa, Dnipropetrovsk and Kirovograd regions to assess the condition of winter crops. Most of the respondents identified this indicator as good and satisfactory.

In addition to this, farmers noted that while maintaining the current weather conditions, plant development may be delayed.

When asked about plant treatments with plant protection products, respondents said that due to cold weather they could not properly treat areas with fungicides and herbicides. At the same time, farmers continue to feed winter crops with ammonium nitrate. Respondents do not complain about the amount of moisture in the soil.
